The Universal Sompo Complete Healthcare Privilege plan is a solid, comprehensive health insurance product that stands out for its no-copayment clause and no restrictions on room rent, allowing insured members to select any hospital room without incurring additional costs.

The inclusion of outpatient consultation coverage (up to 1% of the sum insured) and maternity benefits provides significant value, especially for families planning to have children. The plan also offers sum insured restoration, which replenishes the coverage if exhausted once during the policy year, but only for a different ailment.

Compared to the Basic and Essential variants, the Privilege plan offers higher sum insured options and broader benefits, including maternity cover (with sublimits of ₹25,000 and ₹50,000 for normal and caesarean deliveries respectively) and outpatient consultations. It also includes wellness programs and value-added services such as second medical opinions and disease management support, which are not typically available in lower-tier plans.

There’s also an add on for consumables. However, it’s up to ₹5,000 only. On the downside, premiums for the Privilege plan tend to be 10-20% higher than the Essential variant, reflecting its enhanced benefits.
